Math in the District
  • In the fall of 2015, Triton Regional School District adopted and implemented the Math in FocusĀ®: Singapore Math program in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. Besides traditional books, the program has numerous online resources for students, parents, and teachers. These resources include access to virtual manipulatives, interactivities, background videos, and access to student textbooks and workbooks. Please use the links and login information below to access these resources.

  • Mathematics contributes in direct and fundamental ways to business, finance, health, industry, and defense. Mathematics is an essential ingredient in the foundation of lifelong work in the information age. The mathematics department at the high school offers a variety of courses to challenge each student to discover his or her individual potential. Each student is required to take and pass four years of mathematics to reach his or her maximum level of quantitative literacy, thereby allowing him or her the best opportunities in life. Courses are designed to challenge each student at a level in which he/she can be successful.

  • Triton High School offers Advanced Placement (AP) level mathematics courses, which include AP Calculus AB, AP Statistics and AP Microeconomics. Students learn math through the integration of technology using TI-83/84 graphing calculator software in our classrooms and student use of TI-83/84 graphing calculators to further enhance understanding.

  • Students in Applied Mathematics participate in a Project Based Learning experience related to designing, building, and testing home built wind generators. Their math lessons are designed around wind energy, and cover topics including measuring techniques, unit conversions, rotational equilibrium, torque, wind pressure, force, volume, mass, density, and electricity.
