When Should I Stay Home?
Students do not perform well in school when they are not feeling well. Staying home will likely shorten the length of the illness and hopefully we can interrupt the spreading of germs in school.
You should stay home:
- If you have a temperature of 100.4 degrees (a fever) or do not feel well enough to come to school. Remain home until 24 hours of being fever free without the use of fever reducing medications. Your child may have a low grade temperature of less than 100.4 and not feel well enough to attend school.
- If you are vomiting, feel nauseous or have diarrhea. Return to school when you are symptom free for 24 hours.
- Cough with fever
- Suspected infection of eyes, ears, nose, throat, skin and scalp (unless under Physician's care for 24 hours)
- Severe headache or abdominal pain
- Suspected communicable disease or rash of unknown origin
- Mental health crisis
- Immunization delinquency without proper exemption documentation
- Please notify your school RN of any communicable diseases.
- Absences will be excused with a proper doctor's note.
